Iván Ruiz has published two books of individual authorship and more than forty specialized articles, book chapters and essays for art catalogs in Mexico and abroad. With the sponsorship of the Jumex Contemporary Art Foundation, he conducted the investigation Forensic Archive of the Red Note in Mexico (2017). He was the academic curator of the III and IV National Meeting of Research on Photography (ENIF) of the Image Center and headed the advisory council of the Fotofestival "Mexico Megalopolis. Picturing Mexico Today" held in Knokke-Heist, Belgium, in 2016. Currently developing the research project: For a study of violent images: red note and contemporary art in Mexico (PAPIIT, UNAM, 2018-2019).
