"Un día –o más bien una noche– la escritora Samantha Harvey sufre insomnio. Un insomnio que se va haciendo tan insidioso y persistente que amenaza su salud mental y física. Eternas noches en vela, días en un estado semicatatónico por la falta de descanso. El detonante es, en apariencia, un cambio de domicilio (en el nuevo hay más ruido), pero las causas pueden ser más profundas. La autora consulta a terapeutas y médicos que la tratan con cierta displicencia, prueba con pastillas, con tisanas, con meditación, con técnicas de relajación… Esta suerte de diario de una insomne relata la relación de una mujer con la atormentadora falta de sueño. Pero va mucho más allá.
